Judy, MS, CCC-SLP, MT-BC, brings together her background in music and speech-language pathology to help children communicate and connect with others. Born and raised in Singapore, she began learning piano at 3 years old. She later moved to the US to pursue her college education.

Her interest in music therapy began during high school. She volunteered weekly at Rainbow Centre, a school serving children with developmental and learning needs. Working with five-year-old autistic children, she saw how music encouraged communication and participation. One young girl left a lasting impression. Over a year of receiving music therapy, she grew more confident and began initiating interactions with others. Seeing music create new opportunities for connection inspired Judy to pursue music therapy.

During a music therapy practicum, Judy observed a speech-language pathologist working with an autistic child. This experience sparked her interest in the field. A subsequent course in communication sciences and disorders confirmed her decision to study speech-language pathology.

Judy earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy and Electronic Production and Design from Berklee College of Music in Boston. She later earned a Master of Science in Speech, Language, and Learning from Northwestern University. She is a licensed speech-language pathologist and a board-certified music therapist.

Outside of work, Judy plays piano and guitar on her church’s worship team. She also enjoys hiking, exploring new foods, and fostering dogs.
