Stephanie has a beautiful voice, choral training, and 17 years of piano education. She is also fluent in Mandarin and English, and is a member of the California Music Teacher's Association. She began teaching piano in 2006, the same year she was accepted into the Tianjin Conservatory of Music in Eastern China. After completing her B.A. in music education and piano (with a 3.84 GPA), she was accepted to the prestigious Eastman School of Music in New York (one of the top three music schools in the United States) where she received the Betty Kanable Scholarship for continuing study, and earned her Master's degree in music education. While in New York, she developed a love for using her teaching skills for early childhood music education, focusing on ages 1-5. She taught singing, movement, recorder, and general music in both primary and intermediate public schools. She moved to California and ultimately joined the Music Place teaching faculty in 2012.
Stephanie has a gentle but creative approach to inspire her students toward excellence in ways that are in alignment with their uniqueness while also appropriate for their developmental ability. She specializes in the use of creative tools to make learning fun, and believes that kids should have the opportunity to use song and play based learning to prepare for the more difficult journey of eventually playing an instrument.

"Our daughter, Melissa, loves her music class, and she looks forward to the recitals. She's made friends and become more confident. We'd recommend the Music Place to anyone. -- Melissa's parents, Kathy & Matt, Los Gatos" .
I tell everyone who will listen about the amazing introduction to music that our daughter is getting with the Music Place. People are always amazed when a 3-year old explains that she played an oboe last week and is going to play a piccolo next week! Most importantly, our daughter can't wait for music class & asks to go every day. -- The Pace Family
