JOANN C.
Joann is an energetic and talented singer, artist, dancer and
musician who finds great joy in expressing her multi-artistic self at
The Music Place. In addition to having studied piano and violin as a
child, Joann
has completed the advanced levels of the Certficate of Merit program,
played for over 20 years and performed in numerous honors recitals.
Touring Europe
in an elite choral group, her beautiful voice prompted her to private
vocal study, including 3 years of opera training as well as a wide
variety of jazz improvization, musical theater and gospel singing.
In addition to many years of music and dance study, Joann is a developmental specialist, holding a B.A. in Human Development and a Masters in Public Health from UCLA. During this training she has served as a behavioral therapist, conducting one-on-one behavioral therapy techniques for autistic children. At The Music Place, in addition to teaching voice, piano, EMA and dance, she will perform Aptitude and Readiness Assessments and spearhead therapeutic dance and music classes and training.
Fluent in English and Mandarin and proficient in French, Joann's hobbies include swing dancing, oil painting and dance and song as forms of worship.
