JENIE S.notes

A piano teacher at The Music Place since 2006, Jenie began to teach in the piano preparatory program at Carnegie Mellon University in 2000. She graduated with a B.F.A. in piano performance with a certificate in piano pedagogy. Blessed with incredible music teachers since she began at age 6, Jenie desires to share the basic foundational tools for children to be the best musicians they can be.

Enriched with a wonderful choral experience, Jenie also loves to sing. She sang with Dr. Robert Page at CMU and in The Choral Project with Daniel Hughes. She finds the experience of musical collaboration through ensemble singing to be beautiful on many levels. Most recently she has been exploring vocal jazz, and the challenging idiom of jazz has opened up a thrilling world of music.

When Jenie is not teaching or singing, she enjoys sharing life with her church small group and other friends. She also has a passion for youth ministry and especially loves to work with middle school girls. Other interests include visual arts, and had it not been for the love of teaching, she would have continued a career in graphic design.

"Our daughter, Melissa, loves her music class, and she looks forward to the recitals. She's made friends and become more confident. We'd recommend the Music Place to anyone. -- Melissa's parents, Kathy & Matt, Los Gatos" .

I tell everyone who will listen about the amazing introduction to music that our daughter is getting with the Music Place. People are always amazed when a 3-year old explains that she played an oboe last week and is going to play a piccolo next week! Most importantly, our daughter can't wait for music class & asks to go every day. -- The Pace Family
