CRISTA H.
Winner of the coveted Fulbright Scholarship, Crista Harrington has recently returned from Euope having researched the rich heritage of music education in Estonia at the Estonian Music Academy in Tallinn.
She was born in Los Angeles and began studying music at age 12. After many serendipitous experiences through world travel and eclectic music education, she landed in San Jose, CA. Crista will graduate from San Jose State University in the Spring of 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Music degree in Vocal Performance. Inclusive in her pursuit of the vocal arts is her active involvement with vocal chamber music and choral directing. She is the Artistic Director Intern for Elena Sharkova’s Cantabile youth chorus as well as an assistant for the Silicon Valley Symphony Chorale. Crista teaches private voice, flute, piano, violin, viola, musicianship, and music theory to students from Santa Cruz to Sunnyvale. Crista’s professional desire is to greatly contribute to the expansion of cross cultural Vocal Chamber Music through public and private education and enterprise. Her greater desire is to be a respected interpreter of music, in accordance to its integrity.
Crista is fascinated with young developing minds, and finds that when you introduce music into a young child’s environment, it becomes a catalyst for several areas of growth. She enjoys watching young children develop socially, artistically, and physically through music seeing their confidence grow and goals their dreams realized. Bottom line? She loves children and is a fun, engaging, creative and yet thorough teacher. Crista is also active in her church and enjoys liturgical music as part of her life expression.

I tell everyone who will listen about the amazing introduction to music that our daughter is getting with the Music Place. People are always amazed when a 3-year old explains that she played an oboe last week and is going to play a piccolo next week! Most importantly, our daughter can't wait for music class & asks to go every day. -- The Pace Family
