CHRIS W.
Chris taught at The Music Place for a year in 1996, and returned to us in 2008. Before she
originally came to us, she received her degree at Bethany College in music education. After
her time at the Music Place, she worked for Valley Christian Schools for 11 years as the
elementary music teacher, and two years as the high school music teacher. While at Valley,
Chris taught classroom music, choir, piano, vocal ensemble, and hand chimes. In 2007 she
ended her time with Valley in order to pursue missions, and currently works part-time with
E3 Partners Ministries in addition to teaching music.
Chris enjoys teaching music to students of all ages, and wants her students to be excited
about musical possibilities and their potential. She believes that music should be enjoyed,
because if a student is not excited about the music that they are playing, then they will
probably be less likely to want to practice. As a former "practice-foot-dragger" Chris is
always looking for ways to make practice more exciting and enjoyable. However, even though
she desires that her students have fun with music, without regular practice, it is very
difficult to move forward!
Chris in a nutshell: she loves Jesus, she's passionate about music and missions, and she's
wild about coffee!

I tell everyone who will listen about the amazing introduction to music that our daughter is getting with the Music Place. People are always amazed when a 3-year old explains that she played an oboe last week and is going to play a piccolo next week! Most importantly, our daughter can't wait for music class & asks to go every day. -- The Pace Family
