BETH D.
Beth was born and raised in San Jose, as the oldest of 3 siblings, and developed a passion for music at a very young age. Home-schooled through high school, she was involved in piano lessons, choir and semi-private voice for many years, and later attended San Jose State University, where she received a B.A. in Creative Arts, with an emphasis in Music Education. In early 2004, Beth started teaching at the Music Place as an internship for her senior year in college, and soon began studying the harp under one of the instructors there. What she loves most about teaching is watching the students grow in enjoyment of what they are studying, especially as they realize how they can use their gifts to bless others. Beth's teaching style is relaxed and fun, with an emphasis on creativity and expression, though she strongly encourages the development of proper technique, sight-reading skills, and good practice habits. Although she is comfortable teaching a wide variety of musical styles, her specialties are classical, and contemporary chord-based arrangements. She currently lives in a townhouse in Campbell with two other women, and enjoys scuba diving, reading, and being involved in the music ministry at her church.

I tell everyone who will listen about the amazing introduction to music that our daughter is getting with the Music Place. People are always amazed when a 3-year old explains that she played an oboe last week and is going to play a piccolo next week! Most importantly, our daughter can't wait for music class & asks to go every day. -- The Pace Family
